Industrias Lácteas Manzano, with its Manzer brand, has received two awards, in this case silver and bronze, in the 2014 World Cheese Awards, considered to be the world cup of cheese, which saw more than 2,500 entries from a total of 34 countries.

Sheep’s cheese has centuries of history and properties which you surely don’t know about.
Sheep’s cheese is a product which has been around for a long time. It is said that the Greek gods taught humankind how to make it, but its real origin is very different given that it was discovered by chance. A shepherd kept some of his sheep’s milk for a period of time, and it curdled, giving rise to this delicious dairy product. There are many anecdotes about sheep’s cheese, but one of the best-known is that thanks to its size (not normally very big) and the fact it keeps well for a long time, it was one of the foods eaten on Columbus’s voyage to the Americas.

The benefits of goat’s milk and cheese that you didn’t know about

Goat’s milk is one of the most complete foodstuffs for humans. It was consumed in ancient Egypt and Greece as it was known to be healthy for people. But it wasn’t consumed by itself. In Greece for example, it was mixed with flour or honey. Also herbs and spices like rosemary, or dried fruit and nuts, such as pine nuts, were added during preparation. However, many people don’t know of the benefits of goat’s cheese.

Why isn’t cheese found in Asian cuisine?

Cheese is a much consumed food in western cultures. In countries such as Italy and Spain, it is one of the main ingredients of the most traditional recipes and, in turn, of the most innovative. Additionally, not only do we like cheese ‘cooked’, we also like it ‘raw’. However, if we go to an Asian restaurant, it is likely that we won’t find a dish which contains this tasty treat.
